Omowunmi Dada was born in Lagos State, where he attended Ifako Infant and Primary School for his elementary education and became a member of the Yoruba Cultural Troupe at that time; attended Command Day High School in Oshodi for his high school education and studied Creative Arts.

Career

Omowunmi Dada began her acting career with small roles in stage plays while studying. His first major stage appearance was in the play Moremi Ajasoro, directed by Femi Oke. He began his film career in 2013 with a role in the film Oya alongside veteran Nigerian actor Tunji Sotimirin and later appeared in other notable works. Films like Kunle Afolayan were directed by Omugwo alongside Patience Ozokwor and Ayo Adesanya.

Dada has appeared on several television series, including the EbonylifeTv series Married to the Game, Best Friends and Disney’s Dere an African adaptation “Cinderella”. He also appears in the television series M-net Jemeji and has roles in Tinsel, So Wrong so Wright, Needles Eyes and Bella’s Place, among others.

In 2017, Dada took part in the acclaimed stage production Isale Eko, a play that was adopted as part of the activities approved by the Lagos State Government to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Lagos State.

In 2018, Dada was cast in the lead role of Sade in Nigeria’s first full-length animated film titled SADE, which premiered in 2019.

In December 2017, she was nominated for Best Actress of the Year in Nigeria by award-winning Nigerian filmmaker and critic Charles Novia.

Dada is an ambassador for the Daivyan Cancer Children’s Foundation, which works to raise awareness and support children with cancer. She is also an ambassador for the Brian Wotari Foundation, which is focused on engaging and enriching young people’s lives.
